Partial data deletion
Delete your Transit Hunter data
This page explains how to delete individual data items from your Transit Hunter account without deleting your entire account. Transit Hunter is the satellite-transit planning app published by Embarc Information Technology Private Limited.
This is not account deletion. Everything on this page removes one selected item and leaves your account, your email address and your remaining data in place. For complete account deletion, including deletion of the account itself, use our account deletion process.
Step by step
How to delete individual data
These controls are in the app itself, on the Android app and the web app alike. You need to be signed in, because each control only ever deletes an item belonging to your own account.
Delete a saved place
Open the Saved tab. Each saved place is listed with its name and coordinates. Press Delete next to the place you want to remove.
Delete a watch
Open the Alerts tab and find the Watch for me list. Press Remove next to the watch you no longer want.
Delete an equipment profile
Open the Settings tab and find My equipment. Press Remove next to the rig you want to delete.
Deletion is immediate. There is no confirmation step, no waiting period and no manual review. The item is removed from our database as soon as you press the button, and it disappears from the list straight away. There is no undo, so delete deliberately.
Scope
What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted immediately
Each control deletes exactly one item, and everything stored on that item:
- A saved place — its name, its coordinates and elevation, its time zone, and the observing preferences saved against it, such as travel radius, preferred satellites and targets, and minimum score
- A watch — the standing rule itself, together with the matches recorded against it and any alert queued for it but not yet sent
- An equipment profile — the saved rig, including its focal length and sensor details
Kept, because you are not deleting the account
These controls are deliberately narrow. Deleting one item does not touch anything else, and in particular it keeps:
- Your account and the email address on it, if you added one
- Your sign-in sessions, so you stay signed in
- Every other saved place, watch and equipment profile
- Your push and device registrations, and your plan or subscription records
Anonymous usage counters, which record only that an action happened and are not linked to you, your account or your device, are also unaffected.
To remove your account and the data attached to it, use account deletion instead. That page sets out in full what account deletion removes and the one category it retains, and the Privacy Policy describes how long we keep what we keep.
Need something else deleted?
If you want data removed that these controls do not cover, write to us and we will deal with it. If you want the account gone entirely, the account deletion page does that without needing the app installed.
